9671 DURAN DURAN Added 11/11 Warren Cuccurullo Featuring Shankar - The Blue 2000 USA CD

Rare and original USA issue, 7 track CD, comes in a CD case with front and back inserts

East meets West as legendary double-violinist Shankar teams up with former Duran Duran member Warren Cuccurullo on guitar for this beautiful set.

Guitarist Warren Cuccurullo says about The Blue:

"This music was improvised live to a 2-track digital at my home studio in London. The spontaneous creations captured on this CD are what I consider to be music in its purest form - composition from literally, out of the blue." He described it to me in 1998 as very "stream-of-consciousness" playing between himself and Shenkar.

The press release describes it as "atmospheric music with guitar, violins and vocals." Violinist Shenkar started with John McLaughlin in a band called Shakti. He was a popular Indian classical musician who played traditional Indian classical music, and with McLaughlin, he was introduced into the fusion world and established his name playing violin.

Note: even though technically this experimental CD is instrumental (no lyrics/singing), each track features Shenkar on 'voice as instrument' providing the 'melodic line' for each track. Instrumental Guitar (Electric/New Age), total running time, 74:05
