Roger Taylor Solo

Roger Taylor (born Roger Andrew Taylor on 26 April 1960) is the percussionist for Duran Duran and the 1985 side project Arcadia.

Roger climbed with the band to worldwide fame in the early 1980's, he played on their first 4 albums: Duran Duran, Rio, Seven and the Ragged Tiger and Arena. Along with bass guitarist John Taylor, he gave the band their powerful, driving disco/rock trademark rhythms. His dark brooding looks were a pleasing contrast to the rest of Duran's more glamour led look.

Roger was generally fairly quiet and unassuming, he usually shied away from press, interviews and the bright spotlight, preferring to remain in the background and maintain a degree of privacy.

At the end of 1985, after DD had achieved a UK/USA no. 1 single with the James Bond theme A View to a Kill, Roger left the band and retired to the English countryside with his wife.

In 2001, Roger Taylor rejoined Duran Duran, as all 5 of the original members reunited to record new material and perform together again for the first time since 1985. Roger is also a long running deejay.
